Pour
cold water into water reservoir to max level for foods requiring 25 to
60 minutes steaming time or minimum level for foods requiring less than
20 minutes. Add extra water if the steam stops or if the amount of steam
is reduced.
- Do
not add salt, pepper, or other seasonings to the water reservoir.
- Place
drip tray in base and make sure it fits right.
- Place
the steamer bowl and position it on the base.
- Wash
the Marrlite coated Idli plates with soap and water prior to
use.
- For
best results, apply a thin coating of oil prior to adding the dough
for the first time.
- Add
the dough to the bottom plate first. Do not overfill the cavities.
- Add
the dough to remaining plates and stack them.
- Lift
the three-plate set with center stem and place it inside the bottom
steamer bowl.
- Place
the two-plate set in the upper steamer bowl.
- Place
the upper bowl over the lower bowl. Make sure they fit properly.
- Close
the upper bowl with lid. Plug into wall outlet. Set timer to 20 minutes.
- When
the timer reaches zero, it will automatically shut the unit off.
- Unplug
the unit and wait for a minute before opening the lid.
- Remove
the idli plate set and separate the plates.
- Use
a plastic spoon or spatula to remove the idlies.
- Wash
the idli plates immediately after use. Wipe the steamer clean.
- Do
not wash the steamer or idli plates in the dishwasher.
- If
you want to cook rice, put rice in the rice bowl, and add required amount
of water.
- Place
the rice bowl in the bottom steamer bowl. Close the lid.
- Set
the timer for 40 minutes.
If
you want to steam vegetables, follow the same instructions as for rice.
